The winners are:The New Orleans Saints and the New York Giants, which have a combined 49-38-1 record, are favorites to win the bid.
The Indianapolis Colts, which are 13-17 and have been eliminated from the playoff picture by the San Francisco 49ers, are in second place.
The Indianapolis Colts were expected to win.
It has been a turbulent season for the team, which has lost two of three games to the Saints and Giants.
It was a week after the Colts lost to the Houston Texans, which finished the regular season with a 6-10 record and has now lost seven of its last eight games.
The Saints are on pace for just two winning seasons in their 30-year history, which includes a 0-16 mark in the Super Bowl.
The Saints also lost two in a row to the Pittsburgh Steelers in the 2010 season.
The Giants are in a similar position.
They’re currently 8-7 with an 11-13 record and are coming off a season in which they went 3-11.
The Giants have lost five of six.
The Colts are in fourth place with a 14-18 record and a chance to make the playoffs if the Texans don’t win out.
The Texans are not expected to make a final decision on a bid to buy out the team until Thursday night.
The bidding process for the NFL’s remaining franchises has been ongoing for several months and is expected to take several days.
